We are searching for an experienced Equipment Operator with bucket and thumb attachment experience for our client located in Burnaby.Someone with mobile shear experience would be highly considered.Though the role will mainly be based in Burnaby, there may be required work in our Surrey or Abbotsford facilities depending on business needs.
Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:00am – 4:30pmFlexibility to cover morning (6:00am – 2:30pm) and afternoon (2:00pm – 10:00pm) shifts as needed is required.
Compensation:· $30/hr to $35/hr based on experience (with possible wiggle room).· Monthly, uncapped profit-sharing· RRSP matching· Extended health & dental· Boot allowance· 2-3 weeks of paid vacation
Responsibilities:· Prepares materials to meet customer requirements using bucket and thumb attachments such as Labounty shears on a Cat 336 excavator· Moves materials by loading and unloading them into bins, dumps, trailers, and railcars· Identifies potential hazards and takes action to maintain safety and protect the environment· Carries out light maintenance duties, including lubrication and adjustment of blades and components· Contributes to the planning and design of operational processes· Supports the evaluation of workflow improvements and helps develop practical solutions· Builds knowledge of industry standards and assists with applying best practices· Works independently and takes responsibility when operating off-site
Qualifications:· At least two years of experience operating heavy equipment, including excavators, material handlers, and wheel loaders, is preferred· Hands-on experience using bucket and thumb attachments is required· Strong mechanical understanding with good hand-eye coordination· Effective communication and customer service skills· Committed to maintaining safe work practices· Flexibility with work shifts and ability to travel occasionally· Ability to pass regular random drug and alcohol screenings
