- Identify and qualify new sales opportunities through outbound prospecting activities including phone calls, emails, social media outreach, and industry research.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective customers within targeted market segments.
- Generate and schedule introductory meetings for senior sales personnel.
- Research customer operations and transportation requirements to identify potential opportunities.
Customer Relationship Management
- Support existing customer accounts through regular communication and follow-up.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding transportation services, capabilities, and solutions.
- Maintain accurate customer records and activity updates within Seaboard's system.
- Assist with customer onboarding activities and account setup processes.
- Assist with preparing pricing requests, quotations, proposals, and customer presentations.
- Coordinate with Operations, Customer Service, and Pricing teams to ensure customer requirements can be effectively serviced.
- Support contract renewals, general rate increase initiatives, and various customer retention initiatives.
- Assist with RFP submissions and sales-related administrative activities.
- Maintain a consistent level of outbound prospecting activity.
- Track and report sales pipeline development and lead generation metrics.
- Meet established activity and opportunity generation targets.
- Provide monthly and quarterly sales reports.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 3 to 5 years of business-to-business experience in sales, customer service, transportation, logistics, or business development.
- Previous experience in transportation or logistics is considered an asset but not required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow in a sales career.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Professional phone and email etiquette.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify customer needs and business opportunities.
