About the Role:
Currently Technica is seeking two (2) motivated individual to join our growing team as a Trainer for work in Snow Lake, Manitoba. The role of the is work closely with line management, JHSC representatives, site trainers, coordinators and the client to ensure safety and training needs are being met.
The key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Certified and competent in delivering training on a variety of underground mining equipment, including:
- Jumbo Drills: Epiroc M2D
- Bolters: MacLean 928 Bolter and MacLean 975 Bolter
- Scissor Decks: MacLean SL3 Scissor Lift
- ANFO Loaders: Marcotte Ram Loader
- Boom Trucks: MacLean BT3 Boom Truck
- Haulage Trucks: Epiroc MT22 and Epiroc MT42
- Personal Carriers: Kovatera KT200
- Forklifts/Telehandlers: Manitou MLT625 Telehandler
- Additional underground equipment including scoops, utility vehicles, and other mobile equipment.
- Qualified to deliver Ontario Hard Rock Common Core Training Program 770010 and other applicable Ministry-required training modules.
- Ability to facilitate and deliver engaging Underground Orientation and Plant Orientation programs for new employees.
- Strong understanding of underground mining safety standards, operating procedures, and best practices.
- Experience maintaining and managing employee training records and competency documentation, including oversight of a growing workforce training matrix.
- Proficient in supporting and administering training management systems and processes, including digital platforms such as Sofvie, pre-operational inspections (Pre-Ops), and related compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills with the ability to train employees at varying experience levels.
- Educate participants on hazard identification, risk assessment, and proper safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries
- Train and evaluate competency of equipment operators
- Assist with the Health & Safety Department to conduct training on emergency response procedures, including evacuation protocols and first aid, to ensure personnel are prepared for potential workplace emergencies
- Ensure all employees working on site are properly trained on equipment being used
- Ensure employee training and legislative requirements are met.
- Identify training needs or gaps to develop and revise training and assessment resources
- Complete training logs and training sign-off while ensuring proper record keeping.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety through work habits and behaviours
Qualifications
- Proven experience with Boltec (with RCS5 and/or RCS4) AND Epiroc MS2, L2C Jumbos is required
- Proficient knowledge of industry legislation (OHSA and supporting regulations, ESA, MTCU Core Modular Training Programs)
- Train the Trainer (TTT) designation is considered as asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated initiative with the ability to stay organized, prioritize and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel as required
- Must be open to working at any of the underground mine sites, in Sudbury, that Technica operates at
