The Director of Technical Operations leads the operational and technical infrastructure required to bring the company's products to market. This role is accountable for warehouse operations, assembly and logistics, quality management systems, regulatory compliance activities, and cross-functional coordination across the full commercialization lifecycle. The Director works closely with leadership to ensure operational readiness at every stage of growth.

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Technical Operations will faithfully and diligently perform duties assigned by the Employer, including but not limited to:

  • Leading warehouse setup, outfitting, and ongoing operational readiness, ensuring facilities meet safety, efficiency, and compliance standards
  • Overseeing assembly operations and logistics coordination, including scheduling, workflow design, and resource allocation
  • Implementing and maintaining the company's electronic Quality Management System (eQMS), ensuring data integrity, user adoption, and alignment with regulatory requirements
  • Supporting IEC 60601 certification activities and broader regulatory initiatives, coordinating with internal teams and external bodies as needed
  • Assisting with grant applications by providing technical documentation, operational data, and supporting narratives
  • Managing receiving, shipping, inventory control, and installation support activities to ensure accurate, timely fulfillment
  • Building and maintaining the operational processes required to support successful commercialization of the company's products
  • Performing additional operational, technical, or management duties as reasonably assigned by leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in technical or operations roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity
  • Experience with medical device or regulated product environments strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601 standards and quality management systems (eQMS)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage logistics, inventory, and warehouse operations
  • Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience supporting regulatory submissions or grant applications is an asset
