Forklift Operator

We are seeking a Counterbalance Forklift Operator to join our client's team at their cross dock facility in Mississauga, ON.

Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm Monday-Friday

Pay: $21.00/hour

Responsibilities:

• Offloading trailers, putting pallets away in designated lanes within the cross dock, and reporting overage/shortage/damage freight
• Loading trailers (CP/CN 40' and 53' containers) ensuring proper weight distribution and loads are secured with load bars/straps
• Daily door check and dock check
• Coordinating shunting of trailers to and from doors and drop yard
• Recording pallet dimensions on BOL and recording total footage, ensuring accurate details
• Printing labels from TruckMate and applying labels to pallets
• Sweeping empty trucks/trailers and dock
• Pre and post trip inspections on equipment
• Reporting any maintenance/repairs needed to Team Lead
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Valid forklift license
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating the Counterbalance forklift in a warehouse/cross dock environment to load/unload freight
• Experience with TruckMate (TMW)
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• High attention to detail
• Safety-conscious
• Safety boots and safety vest
• Able to work Monday to Friday on the afternoon shift
