Construction Truck Delivery Driver

As a Construction Truck Delivery Driver & Tool Room Assistant, you will support the Fleet and Facilities team by ensuring the safe and timely transportation of construction materials, tools, and equipment between job sites, suppliers, and company facilities.

This role combines delivery responsibilities with tool and equipment inspection, inventory support, and yard operations. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining operational efficiency while upholding Matheson's commitment to safety, reliability, and service excellence.

Key ResponsibilitiesDelivery & Transportation

• Safely operate company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and company policies.
• Transport construction materials, tools, and equipment between job sites, suppliers, and company facilities.
• Complete deliveries and pickups in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and transportation documentation.
• Represent the company professionally while interacting with employees, suppliers, and clients.

Vehicle Safety & Maintenance

• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Report vehicle defects, maintenance requirements, or safety concerns immediately.
• Maintain clean and organized company vehicles, both internally and externally.
• Ensure all vehicle documentation and inspection records are completed accurately and on time.

Tool & Equipment Management

• Inspect tools and equipment prior to transportation and use.
• Identify damaged, unsafe, or non-operational equipment and remove it from service.
• Tag and report defective tools and equipment according to company procedures.
• Support the maintenance of a safe and organized tool room environment.
• Assist with basic inventory control and tracking of company assets.

Inventory & Returns Support

• Receive and inspect returned tools and equipment from field crews.
• Assess returned items for damage, missing components, or excessive wear.
• Assist with inventory organization and storage procedures.
• Support accurate tracking and accountability of tools and equipment.

Yard & General Operations

• Assist with yard organization and housekeeping activities.
• Support loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain delivery logs, inspection records, and related documentation.
• Perform general labour and operational support duties as assigned.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

QualificationsEducation & Experience

• Minimum three (3) years of safe driving experience preferred.
• Experience within construction, logistics, transportation, or equipment handling environments is considered an asset.
• Previous experience inspecting tools and equipment is strongly preferred.
• Forklift certification is considered an asset.

Licensing Requirements

• Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence required.
• Clean driving abstract required.
• Ontario Class DZ Licence considered an asset.

Working Conditions

• Based out of the Stoney Creek, Ontario facility.
• Regular travel to construction sites, suppliers, and company locations.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading of tools and equipment.
• Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Overtime and extended hours may be required to support operational demands.
• Exposure to construction site environments and associated hazards.
• Manual dexterity required to operate vehicles, equipment, and inventory systems.
