Job Details:
We are looking for a driven Finance Analyst who's ready to get hands-on, think strategically, and make a real impact across a dynamic, fast-moving operation.
This is not just an analyst role, it's a structured development path toward a Finance Manager position within ~12 months, based on performance and business needs.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare monthly management reports, executive summaries, and KPI dashboards
- Analyze revenue, margins, expenses, and overall business profitability
- Perform budget vs. actual variance analysis and highlight key drivers
- Support month-end and year-end reporting processes
- Evaluate pricing, customer quotes, and lane profitability
- Identify revenue leakage and margin improvement opportunities
- Support pricing strategy, rate reviews, and renewals
- Conduct customer, account, and segment profitability analysis
- Identify high-performing vs underperforming accounts
- Recommend actions to improve margins and retention
- Provide market and commercial insights (industry trends, freight markets, competition, fuel costs, etc.)
- Support revenue growth strategy and customer targeting decisions
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Monitor working capital, AR/AP trends, and financial risks
- Support compliance and regulatory reporting (HST, WSIB, EHT, T4/T4A, CRA, year-end reporting)
- Assist with banking, financing, and insurance reporting packages
- Build and maintain dashboards for revenue, margins, customers, cash flow, and KPIs
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce, or related field
- 3+ years of accounting/finance experience (including leadership exposure)
- CPA (completed or in progress)
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills; QuickBooks experience required
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial analysis
- Experience in transportation, freight forwarding, or logistics (strong asset)
- Familiarity with UFOS Transport & Warehouse software is an advantage
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate data into business insights
