Description ofPosition:

We areseekinga skilled and motivatedEquipment Operator/SkilledLabourerto join our Construction team. Reporting to the Superintendent and Site Foreman, you will playan important roleinthe construction of multi-familyresidential buildings. This position combines the operation ofequipment with hands-onlabourresponsibilities such as site preparation, material handling, andmaintaininga safe and organized worksite. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, takes pride in quality workmanship, works well both independently and as part of a team, anddemonstratesa strong work ethic, effective communication skills, physical endurance, and a positive attitude.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operateequipment, including skid steers, and other construction machinery, to support site preparation activities.
  • Perform pre-, mid-, and post-construction site clean-up, including debris removal and daily site maintenance.
  • Carry out manuallabourtasks such as material handling, sweeping, stacking, moving materials, and excavation support.
  • Assistwith flatwork, forming, and other construction activities asrequired.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Complete Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and activelyparticipatein site safety initiatives.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures and report hazards or violations to the Site Superintendent.
  • Communicate effectively with Superintendents, Foremen, ground crews, and other team members to coordinate tasks and meet project schedules.
  • Assistcarpenters and other skilled tradespeople asrequired.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environmentat all times.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years ofequipment operating experience, preferably within civil construction.
  • Experience working onconstruction sites
  • Experience operating excavators, skid steers, and other construction equipment.
  • General understanding of construction practices, site operations, and safety procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools and the ability to safelyoperateand maintain construction tools and equipment.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • First Aid and/or safety certificationisconsidered an asset.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting and other manuallabourtasks.
  • Strong organizational,time-management, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong workethic, positiveattitude, personal accountability, and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Willingness to take direction, learn new skills, and contribute wherever needed to support project success.

Rate of Pay:

  • Wage of$25 to $30per hour(theactualwageofferedwill becommensuratewith education and experience).
