Our client, a well-established manufacturer serving specialized industrial markets, is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its Quality team. This position plays a critical role in driving customer satisfaction, quality system effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. Working closely with operations, engineering, sales, and leadership teams, the successful candidate will lead quality-focused projects, analyze performance metrics, support audits, and champion process excellence. This is a highly visible role that combines technical expertise, customer interaction, and strategic quality leadership.

The Role

  • Lead customer quality initiatives by investigating concerns, coordinating corrective actions, and ensuring timely resolution through effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts by evaluating process performance, identifying gaps, and partnering with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable solutions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Quality Management System (QMS) compliance, ensuring adherence to ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and product safety expectations.
  • Analyze quality and operational performance data, develop meaningful KPI reports, and provide recommendations to leadership for business improvement.
  • Facilitate internal and external audits, manage audit findings, and ensure corrective actions are completed and verified.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation to align with organizational objectives.
  • Coordinate and deliver quality awareness training, workshops, and employee development initiatives that promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and customer-facing teams to improve process efficiency, product specifications, documentation accuracy, and operational performance.
  • Support business performance reviews through KPI tracking, reporting, and presentation of findings to leadership teams.
  • Lead root cause investigations utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Participate in new product introductions, process changes, and validation activities to ensure quality requirements are achieved.
  • Monitor industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to continuously strengthen quality systems and operational performance.
  • Support additional quality, compliance, and continuous improvement projects as required.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electronics, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in a manufacturing quality engineering, quality systems, or continuous improvement role.
  • Strong experience working within ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environments.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or equivalent audit leadership experience.
  • Experience conducting internal, supplier, customer, and process audits within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, product certification requirements, and quality management principles within regulated industries.
  • Advanced ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications, and quality analysis tools; experience with statistical software is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated success leading root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Pareto Analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities with experience interacting with customers, auditors, and senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives to completion.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing quality activities and managing customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or operational excellence methodologies is considered an asset.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong ownership, accountability, and problem-solving capabilities.
