Forklift operator

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Counterbalance Forklift / Baler Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for operating baling equipment to compress recyclable materials into transport-ready bales while supporting general facility operations. The ideal candidate will maintain high safety standards and contribute to a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate baler equipment to process cardboard, plastics, and other recyclable materials.
• Prepare materials for baling, including sorting, staging, and removing contaminants.
• Tie, secure, and label bales for storage or shipment.
• Operate a counterbalance forklift or pallet jack to move finished bales (certification required).
• Monitor equipment performance and report any issues or malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate production records, including bale counts and material types.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards at all times.
• Assist with general warehouse and plant duties including sorting, loading, and housekeeping.
• Follow all company procedures, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

• Follow Occupational Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
• Operate machinery safely, including proper lockout/tagout procedures.
• Wear required PPE (gloves, safety boots, eye and hearing protection).
• Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating a baler.
