Bookkeeper – Public Accounting

Location: Brampton, ON

Employment Type: Full-time

Our client, a public accounting firm in Brampton, is looking to hire a Bookkeeper to join their team. This role is well suited for someone with experience working in a public accounting environment who is comfortable managing bookkeeping files for multiple clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping, bank and credit card reconciliations, government remittances, payroll support, and assisting with year-end working papers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
  • Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable entries
  • Prepare HST, WSIB, and payroll remittances
  • Assist with payroll processing, as required
  • Maintain organized and accurate client records
  • Support accountants with year-end working paper preparation
  • Communicate with clients to request information and clarify details

Requirements

  • Previous bookkeeping experience in public accounting is required
  • Experience managing multiple client files
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with clients
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
