Mississauga Convention Centre is hiring an experienced Chef specializing in authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. If you are passionate about Arabic, Syrian, Turkish, and Levantine flavours and have strong hands-on experience with shawarma, kebabs, rotisserie meats, and grilled dishes, we want to hear from you.

You will be part of a busy, high-volume kitchen preparing delicious, authentic food for banquets, weddings, corporate events, and daily operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare authentic Middle Eastern cuisine including shawarma, kebabs, grilled meats, mezze, rice dishes, and traditional breads

  • Operate shawarma machines, rotisserie equipment, grills, and other commercial kitchen equipment

  • Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, presentation, and food quality

  • Prepare food for high-volume banquets, weddings, corporate events, and catering operations

  • Follow authentic recipes and maintain traditional Middle Eastern cooking standards

  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and strict food safety standards at all times

  • Support daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment

  • Assist in inventory control, proper storage, and FIFO rotation

  • Work closely with kitchen team to ensure smooth production and service flow

  • Ensure attractive food presentation and timely service during peak hours

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Middle Eastern cuisine

  • Strong knowledge of Arabic, Syrian, Turkish, or Levantine cooking styles

  • Hands-on experience with shawarma, kebabs, rotisserie, and grilled meats

  • Experience in banquet, catering, or high-volume kitchen environment preferred

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment

  • Food Handler Certification required

  • WHMIS Certification is an asset

  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in food quality

  • Good teamwork and communication skills

  • Physically able to stand for long hours and handle kitchen demands

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in banquet and catering operations

  • Menu planning and food costing experience

  • Experience leading and mentoring kitchen teams

  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and customized menu preparation
