Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to oversee kitchen operations and be our main chef working lunch to over dinner shifts. This pivotal role requires a passionate food industry professional with strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant management experience, and a commitment to food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will excel in supervising staff, managing food preparation, and ensuring exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This position offers an opportunity to influence the culinary direction of our establishment while maintaining high standards of hospitality and service.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise small group kitchen staff, including cook, food service personnel, ensuring efficient team management and collaboration
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to uphold quality standards and consistency
  • Manage daily restaurant operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in accordance with food safety regulations
  • Develop menus in collaboration with culinary staff that align with restaurant branding and customer preferences
  • Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed to maintain hygiene standards
  • Monitor food service operations to ensure timely delivery of orders and excellent customer satisfaction
  • Train new staff members on kitchen procedures, safety protocols, and service excellence
  • Maintain a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, leadership, and professional development

Experience

  • Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment
  • Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
  • Strong team management skills with demonstrated leadership capabilities in a restaurant setting
  • In-depth knowledge of restaurant management practices including food safety standards and kitchen operations
  • Prior experience in the food industry with a focus on hospitality or restaurant management is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with food handling regulations and serving best practices
  • Excellent organisational skills combined with the ability to lead a team effectively under pressure
