Part-Time Associate Dentist

We are seeking a Part-Time Associate Dentist to provide dental services to our established hygiene patient base. This role is ideal for a dentist who values conservative treatment planning, professional autonomy, and flexible part-time work in a low-pressure setting.

The Associate Dentist will independently provide dental services to patients referred internally from the hygiene team when diagnosis, restorative care, or treatment planning is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide dental examinations and diagnoses
• Develop and explain treatment plans
• Perform restorative dentistry (e.g. fillings, simple restorations)
• Refer patients to specialists when clinically indicated
• Collaborate professionally with the dental hygiene team to support continuity of care
• Maintain complete and accurate clinical documentation
• Uphold all CDSA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics

REQUIREMENTS

• DDS or DMD degree
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta (CDSA)*
• Professional liability insurance
• Ability to practice independently and ethically
• Strong communication and patient-centred care philosophy

PRACTICE MODEL

• Independent contractor arrangement
• Dentist maintains full professional autonomy and clinical decision-making authority
• Non-supervisory, collaborative relationship with the dental hygiene team
• Dentist remains professionally accountable for all services provided

SCHEDULE / AVAILABILITY

Flexible | Ideal for 1–2 days per week

*The successful candidate must maintain active registration with the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta (CDSA), adhere to all CDSA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, and practice according to applicable Alberta legislation. Professional services provided by the dentist must be documented, invoiced, and delivered in compliance with regulatory requirements.
