This role leads day-to-day Accounts Payable and purchasing operations, partnering closely with outsourced teams to ensure a smooth end-to-end procure-to-pay (P2P) process. The Accounts Payable Team Lead manages invoice flow, resolves escalations, supports compliance and governance, and drives continuous process improvement through data-driven insights.
The position also plays a key role in automation oversight, system enhancements, and the onboarding and development of both internal and offshore team members.
Responsibilities- Support daily Accounts Payable and purchasing operations by working with outsourced teams to resolve tickets, manage system workflows, address purchasing issues, and ensure efficient invoice processing across the P2P cycle
- Oversee automation activities, including monitoring, updates, and troubleshooting of RPA processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain AP knowledge resources by updating documentation, communicating system updates or outages, and staying current on system enhancements and process changes
- Assist with supplier onboarding, including catalog and electronic integration setup, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with business stakeholders on process improvements, operational changes, and new initiatives
- Support compliance and governance efforts by contributing to audit requirements, monitoring system access, and ensuring adherence to internal controls and policies
- Partner with outsourced AP teams to monitor performance, review quality metrics, identify process gaps, and reinforce best practices
- Analyze key performance indicators such as invoice processing metrics, exception trends, and aging reports, and provide recommendations for improvement
- Manage and resolve escalations from internal stakeholders, vendors, and outsourced teams in a timely and professional manner
- Support reconciliation activities and month-end processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies
- Assist with payment processes in alignment with internal controls and approval requirements
- Work cross-functionally with Procurement, Finance, Treasury, Technology, and vendors to resolve issues and improve processes
- Document processes, maintain training materials, and support onboarding and development of team members
- Lead, coach, and mentor team members, including offshore resources, to drive performance and engagement
- Support ad hoc projects, reporting, and audit-related requests as needed
- Accounting diploma or degree
- 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience, including exposure to escalations, KPI tracking, compliance, vendor management, and P2P operations
- Prior team leadership or mentorship experience
- Experience with ERP systems and AP automation platforms (e.g., procurement systems, invoice processing tools, or similar technologies)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively with offshore teams and cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-focused mindset with strong vendor relationship management skills
- Experience with reporting and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI or similar platforms)
- Exposure to full-cycle accounting processes
- Familiarity with workflow tools, automation technologies, or ticketing systems
- Experience working in global or outsourced team environments
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence stakeholders

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr.
