Wellington Guelph Drug Strategy (WGDS)

The Wellington Guelph Drug Strategy (WGDS) is seeking a part-time Education Coordinator to support enhanced collaboration and delivery of substance use-related education and training initiatives across Guelph and Wellington. This role will support to promote and deliver community trainings, help strengthen shared messaging across community partners, and contribute to the development of a shared evaluation approach.

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES

The Coordinator will work collaboratively with WGDS partners to strengthen shared education and training efforts related to substance use and drug poisoning prevention.

  • Engage and coordinate with community partners involved in education and training initiatives;
  • Identify opportunities to improve alignment and strengthen collaboration;
  • Assist in the development of key training materials and shared evaluation framework and common indicators for training initiatives;
  • Support planning and facilitation of meetings and trainings;
  • Support communication and knowledge-sharing among WGDS partners;
  • Contribute to recommendations for sustainable and coordinated education and training approaches.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of substance use & harm reduction approaches;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills;
  • Experience working collaboratively across organizations and sectors;
  • Ability to work independently and manage timelines effectively;
  • Experience with evaluation is considered an asset;
  • Lived and/or living experience related to substance use is valued.
