Duties and Responsibilities:

The Composites Technician is responsible for manufacturing and assembling composite components. They must follow all safety and quality control procedures. They are also responsible for shipping and tracking inventory. They must be able to work individually and as part of a team.

Manufacturing:

· Trim and kit materials

· Measure and apply gel coat and resin

· Layup composite materials using a variety of processing techniques including hand layup, infusion, and prepreg

· Demould cured parts

· Trim cured parts

· Perform assembly operations using mechanical fasteners and adhesives

· Use equipment including, but not limited to, band saw, table saw, jig saw, rotary cutter, belt sander, vacuum pump, oven, and hand tools

· Follow process documentation for each component

Quality Control:

· Complete required documentation when manufacturing and inspecting a component

· Follow quality control procedures

· Inspect finished components

Facilities:

· Clean the shop area on a daily/weekly basis

· Keep track of materials and parts inventory

· Package and ship completed components and assemblies

Miscellaneous:

· Follow all safety procedures including using appropriate personal protective equipment

· Lift moulds, materials, and parts up to 50lbs
