Application Security Engineer (AppSec) – Public Sector

Location: Edmonton, Alberta

About the Role

We are seeking an Application Security Engineer to secure enterprise applications through secure development, DevSecOps, and application security testing practices.

IMPORTANT NOTE – PUBLIC SECTOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Candidates must have experience supporting application security initiatives within Government, Crown Corporations, Healthcare, Education, Defense, or other Public Sector organizations.

Candidates without Public Sector experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct secure code reviews.
• Perform SAST, DAST, and API security testing.
• Support secure SDLC and DevSecOps programs.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments.
• Assist development teams with remediation efforts.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Application Security experience.
• Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10.
• Experience with Checkmarx, Veracode, Snyk, Fortify, or similar tools.
