Support Aide

Hiring a high quality one to one Support Aide for a Nuerodivergent 22 year old male. Individual is very social and out going. Loves activities such as golf, bowling, rock climbing, billiard pool, chess and cards, yoga, working out, coffee shops. Also loves sports and attending any sport, particularly hockey and baseball.

Qualifications:

-High School diploma/GED

-Negative Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Search

-First Aide or willing to obtain

-Clean Driver's Abstract

-Must be at least 19 years old as per Provincial Driver's License laws

-Reliable vehicle for to and from work and transporting individual to activities

-3 Professional References

-Experience working with developmental disabilities and mental health behaviours and concerns

-Fluent in English, very good communication skills

-Candidates are required to be patient, self-motivated, extremely reliable, enthusiastic. Caring and compassion is a must. Energetic and active with a positive mindset and healthy lifestyle.

Responsibilities

-Providing companionship, fun, and supportive listening and understanding.

-Assist with healthy daily living activities in and out of the home.

-Facilitate continuing education, basic math and reading, fairly minimal amount to stay refreshed.

-Type 1 Diabetes management, will receive training.

-Facilitate community based activities such as golf, bowling, possible rock climbing, walking, billiard pool, etc.

-Facilitate job placement program and possible college life skills program.

-Assisting to pursue new interests.
