Position Overview
The Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in supporting a large-scale PDBFM construction project by monitoring, documenting, and tracking construction progress throughout all phases of delivery. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with project management, design teams, contractors, and stakeholders. A core component of the position includes the use of DroneDeploy Ground to capture, record, and report on construction progress.
As our Quantity Surveyor, you will:
Construction Monitoring & Progress Tracking
- Monitor and document construction progress across all project stages, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and contractual obligations.
- Conduct regular (daily) site inspections to verify quantities, assess work completed, and identify variances or potential risks.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of progress, including photographic and written documentation.
- Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
DroneDeploy Ground Utilization
- Operate DroneDeploy Ground to capture imagery, and progress mapping of the construction site.
- Analyze data to verify installed quantities, site conditions, and support progress validation.
- Integrate DroneDeploy Ground outputs into project reporting, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
Quantity Management
- Track and validate quantities installed versus planned, identifying discrepancies
- Support the development and maintenance of project quantity tracking systems and logs.
- Utilize Bluebeam in depth to track site progress on a tablet.
- Utilize Power BI to publish progress complete percentages
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with project managers, design teams, contractors, and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and alignment on project status.
- Participate in progress meetings, providing clear updates supported by quantitative and DroneDeploy Ground data.
- Communicate findings proactively, highlighting risks, delays, or deviations from planned progress.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Support quality assurance processes by verifying that completed work meets design specifications and contractual standards.
Our ideal candidate has:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in quantity surveying or construction progress monitoring, preferably on large infrastructure or PDBFM projects.
- Proficiency with DroneDeploy or Imaging construction monitoring platforms (is an asset, training will be provided if required).
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with progress measurement and reporting tools.
