Industrial Electrician

Location: Windsor, ON (On-site — Hot Stamp Facility)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Industry: Automotive Manufacturing / Stamping

Pay Range: $35.00 – $48.00/hour (based on experience) + quarterly performance bonus

Schedule: Shift work; 6-day production model with mandatory overtime/weekends as required for maintenance

About the Opportunity:

Our client is a leading automotive stamping manufacturer and the only automotive manufacturing operation within a large, well-established North American parent company that actively invests in its Canadian facilities. Their Windsor Hot Stamp facility produces structural body components for major automotive programs and operates with high-level robotics and cutting-edge process technology — including new laser welding capability that is rare in the industry.

They are seeking a licensed Industrial Electrician to join their maintenance team. This role became available due to an internal promotion (an electrician advancing into a maintenance supervisor position) — a reflection of the company's strong culture of promoting from within. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled, self-motivated electrician who thrives in a fast-paced, technology-forward manufacturing environment and wants long-term growth.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide preventative and reactive maintenance support across the facility, ensuring machines and equipment operate safely and efficiently
  • Safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical machinery and equipment
  • Perform repairs to machinery and plant support systems — hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, drives, bearings, and gears
  • Improve electrical processes to minimize production downtime and disruption
  • Read, interpret, and modify electrical schematics to support troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems
  • Troubleshoot and support high-level robotic systems and PLCs
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives through thorough documentation
  • Support maintenance projects during scheduled downtime, including weekends and holidays when required (industrial furnaces cannot be shut down during production)

What You Bring (Required)

  • 442A or 309A Electrician License (mandatory — non-negotiable)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Industrial electrical experience (strongly preferred over residential)
  • Ability/certification to operate an aerial lift
  • Ability to learn and retain knowledge of robot programming and PLCs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and good manual dexterity
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with robotic systems / automation lines
  • Exposure to laser welding or other advanced manufacturing technologies
  • Degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution

Why This Company:

  • Cutting-edge technology: New laser welding capability (rare in the industry) on a major EV manufacturer contract, plus high-level robotics throughout the facility
  • Investment in people: Company-sponsored training, including KUKA robotics training (on-site and off-site)
  • Quarterly bonus program: Performance-based incentive (approx. 10% of base hourly wage; safety + company performance targets, with potential to pay out above target)
  • Strong internal promotion culture: Clear pathways for advancement — current plant manager rose from the floor to management in 10 years
  • Stability and growth: Backed by a financially strong parent company committed to investing in its Canadian operations

Benefits:

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage — effective immediately upon hire
  • Orthodontics coverage (50%) for children under 17
  • $500 annual wellness bucket (massage, chiropractic, homeopathic services)
  • Health spending account ($350 after one year; rolls over one year, paid out if unused)
  • Paid time off: 2 weeks standard
  • 10 paid holidays (including Civic Holiday and Family Day) plus floater days
  • RSP matching: 4% after two years, 6% after four years
  • Relocation support: case-by-case signing bonus available for the right out-of-area candidate

Additional Information:

  • This is an on-site role at the Windsor Hot Stamp facility
  • The hot stamp environment can be warm in summer; temperature-controlled areas exist throughout based on process needs
  • Skilled-trades hiring moves quickly — qualified candidates can expect a fast interview-to-offer process
  • Open to candidates relocating to the Windsor area
