Job Overview

Are you a skilled Pneumatic / Hydraulic Mechanic specializing in rock drill equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems on rock drills used in mining and drilling operations. Mining experience is preferred, and a strong understanding of high-pressure systems and field service work is essential. This position will report to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems on rock drills and associated equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventative servicing to ensure optimal performance
  • Troubleshoot faults in drifters, feed systems, air legs, and hydraulic circuits
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and parts diagrams
  • Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance
  • Maintain detailed service records and complete work orders accurately
  • Support field operations and respond to breakdowns as needed
  • Follow all safety procedures and mining regulations
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • 25+ years of experience working on pneumatic and hydraulic systems (rock drill experience an asset)
  • Mining or drilling industry experience
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation
  • Trade certification (Heavy Equipment Technician, Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, or similar) is an asset
  • Valid drivers license; ability to travel to job sites if required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of high-pressure air and hydraulic systems
  • Hands-on experience with rock drills, drifters, and drilling equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

Working Conditions

  • 40 hours/week (MondayFriday); schedule may adapt to business needs
  • Shop and possible field-based work, including mine sites and remote locations
  • Exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and varying weather conditions
  • On-site role with adherence to client Safety, Drug, and Alcohol policies
