The Farmhand/Automotive Service Technician plays a crucial role within a small team supporting crop farming operations. This multifaceted position involves operating a range of farm machinery and automotive equipment, particularly during planting and harvesting seasons. Tasks also include performing maintenance, basic repairs, and welding to ensure optimal farm production and vehicle performance. Occasional travel to other farm sites may be required.
Responsibilities
- Operate harvesters, combines, tractors, plows, and farm trucks safely and efficiently
- Assist with planting and harvesting crops during peak seasons
- Perform equipment maintenance, basic repairs, automotive and tire repairs, welding, and diesel upgrades/tuning
- Clean and maintain barns and other farm structures
- Collaborate effectively within a small team (2-5 members) to meet farm objectives
- Use observation skills to monitor crop health and equipment condition
- Follow safety procedures and use manual tools properly
- Travel occasionally to other farm sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in agriculture
- Valid driver's license
- Tractor operation skills
- Basic equipment repair and farm machinery maintenance knowledge
- Physical stamina to handle demanding farm tasks
