What are the Steamfitter Responsibilities?
- Keep industrial machinery and mechanical systems running safely and efficiently through diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Assemble and install a wide range of valves, fittings, and piping systems.
- Fabricate, install, position, and connect components and equipment—often including hydro testing and custom builds.
- Safely operate a fork truck to move parts and materials.
- Maintain inventory for traderelated consumables and advise when reorders are needed.
- Participate regularly in safety and technical training to stay sharp, safe, and uptodate.
What You Bring
- A valid 307A Steamfitter Certificate of Qualification (Ontario).
- 2–5 years of experience as a Steamfitter/Pipefitter in an industrial environment.
- Welding experience (bonus points for CWB certifications!)
- Familiarity with food safety programs like HACCP and GMP preferred, will consider candidates without who show aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with piping and mechanical systems.
- Handson proficiency with hand/power tools, machine tools, calipers, welding/cutting equipment, and basic rigging.
- Ability to interpret shop prints, drawings, and engineering specifications.
- Experience with CMMS systems
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights, work in extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and environments with grease/oil/fumes.
- A safetyfirst mindset and strong communication skills.
