The Construction Manager oversees the construction department, including Site Superintendents, Assistant Site Superintendents, and Construction Technicians, ensuring construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and to company quality standards. This role supports the construction department by coordinating resources, managing schedules, and maintaining strong trade relationships. The Construction Manager also enforces safety compliance, monitors project performance, and works closely with other departments to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Team Leadership

  • Build strong working relationships with internal departments, including procurement, sales, and operations.
  • Support hiring, training, and development of Site Superintendents and Assistant Site Superintendents.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and construction processes across all projects.
  • Monitor project performance, ensuring timely reporting of critical activities and milestones.
  • Review and analyze construction schedules, site progress, and trade performance.

Project Delivery

  • Oversee multiple construction projects, ensuring they meet company quality, budget, and timeline expectations.
  • Implement and refine construction processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize deficiencies.
  • Identify project risks and proactively implement solutions to maintain workflow.
  • Monitor adherence to contracts, scopes of work, and trade agreements.

Trade Relationships

  • Coordinate and schedule work according to company best practices, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Manage trade relationships, ensuring accountability for quality, timelines, and performance.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of qualified trades and suppliers to maintain strong vendor partnerships.
  • Conduct regular reviews of trade and supplier performance, addressing deficiencies as needed.

Customer Focus

  • Oversee site inspections to ensure homes meet quality standards after customer possession.
  • Work with Site Superintendents to identify and resolve production risks.
  • Ensure timely updates on project status are communicated to customers and internal teams.
  • Support continuous improvement in product quality, customer satisfaction, and post-construction warranty service.
