Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client, we are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Heavy Civil Estimator with 2 to 10 years experience in shallow and deep underground utilities to join their growing team in Calgary. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects, including water, sewer, storm, and utility installations. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, practical field knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for asphalt paving, concrete, and related civil works
  
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine scope and requirements
  
• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis for materials, labour, and equipment
  
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
  
• Identify project risks and opportunities and incorporate them into estimates
  
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams
  
• Assist in bid submissions and proposal preparation
  
• Maintain and update estimating databases and historical cost data
  

Qualifications:

• 2 to 10 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on paving and concrete
  
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment
  
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  
• Experience working on municipal or provincial infrastructure projects
  
• Familiarity with local Calgary and Alberta construction standards and regulations
