About the Role
We're hiring a skilled Forklift Mechanic to perform diagnostics, repairs, and PM services on a wide range of material‐handling equipment. This role includes both shop and field work depending on experience. You'll work independently, communicate directly with customers, and take pride in delivering clean, accurate repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on forklifts
- Perform PM services, safety inspections, and full equipment repairs
- Repair engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and mast systems
- Troubleshoot electric systems (controllers, contactors, batteries, chargers)
- Complete clear, accurate service notes
- Maintain a clean, organized service truck or workspace
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal staff
- Follow all safety procedures and certification requirements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a forklift, heavy equipment, or automotive mechanic
- Strong diagnostic skills with propane, diesel, and/or electric systems
- Ability to read schematics and service manuals
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Own basic tools (specialty tools provided)
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Certification as a forklift or heavy equipment technician is an asset
