LOCATION: Guelph, ON (hybrid - 2 days/week in office)
MacDonald Search Group is a national permanent placement recruiting firm and we recruit on behalf of hiring companies.
Our client is a leading national distributor and they are on the hunt for a new Bilingual Human Resource Business Partner to join their Canadian HR team.
Reporting to the VP of HR, this role will have hybrid functions between managing the employee base in Quebec comprised of 150 employees and also HR operations.
This is a mid-level HRBP position requiring 5+ years experience at the HRBP level with proven track record of partnering in-depth with leaders and a strong coaching skill set plus sufficient experience working in tasks/projects related to HR operations.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with leaders as a trusted HR advisor across employee relations, performance, engagement, talent, compensation, and change.
- Coach managers to build strong leadership capability and drive a high-performance culture.
- Support employee relations cases including conflict resolution, performance issues, and workplace concerns.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on hiring and onboarding to ensure strong culture fit and smooth integration.
- Improve HR programs, policies, and processes with HR partners and cross-functional teams.
- Lead or support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help drive engagement and culture actions based on feedback and business needs.
- Deliver HR training and workshops for leaders and employees.
- Support organizational change and act as a champion of culture and values.
- Oversee day-to-day HR operations to ensure smooth and consistent delivery of HR services across the employee lifecycle.
- Manage employee data, HR systems, and reporting to support informed decision-making and data integrity.
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR workflows and enhance the overall employee experience through process improvements and automation.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related field
- CHRP or CHRL designation preferred
- Fully bilingual in English and French (written and spoken)
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in an HR Business Partner role
- In-depth knowledge of Quebec employment legislation
- Proven ability to influence and partner with leaders, manage complex employee matters, and drive HR initiatives from strategy through execution
- Strong communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to fostering a positive employee experience
