Position Summary:

As an Occupational Therapist, youll be at the heart of a dynamic team, using your expertise to unlock each childs full potential. Youll conduct engaging assessments, offer expert consultations, and develop creative, individualized treatment plans that help young clients thrive in everyday activities. From boosting fine motor skills to enhancing sensory integration, your work will empower children to achieve milestones that matter and celebrate every success along the way.

Education/Training/Experience:

  • Master of Science, Occupational Therapy.
  • Active member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an Occupational Therapy role.
  • Experience with children, youth and families, an asset.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising and communicating with all stakeholders (individually, in teams, and agency-wide).
  • Facilitate problemsolving within the team context regarding program development and individual treatment planning.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office (i.e., Outlook, Word, etc.).
  • Experience working with case management software (i.e., EMHWare), is an asset.
  • Experience working with eating disorders, preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized assessment and intervention as well as program planning/implementation, consultation, and education as part of an interdisciplinary team and with families.
  • Consult with the health care individuals involved, to define the appropriate plan of action of the specific individuals case.
  • Assess individuals and on an ongoing basis assist in developing treatment care plans.
  • Ensure that Individuals are involved in identified therapeutic programs, which meet specified goals.
  • Provide on-going analysis of individual's progress towards identified goals.
  • Documents pertinent information as it relates to the delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
  • Recognizes variations in the continuum of health by implementing Occupational Therapy interventions, which promote, maintain, and restore health, prevent disease and injury and provide comfort.
  • Ensures that the practice of Occupational Therapy is conducted in accordance with the Code of Ethics as stipulated by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapist, and all provincial regulatory bodies.
  • Understands and complies with the legal requirements of licensure, legislation, scope of practice, and policies and procedures of the agency.
  • Other duties as assigned.
