THE ROLE

STRIVE Recruitment has partnered with a highly successful, privately held organization to recruit an Accounting Manager for a newly created position within their growing finance team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own and manage the month-end close across multiple entities, ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent financial reporting
• Review and prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany transactions
• Lead full-cycle accounting operations, ensuring strong controls and smooth day-to-day execution
• Oversee project-based and cost-tracked financial activity, ensuring costs are accurately captured, allocated, and reconciled
• Partner closely with operational teams to support billing cycles, maintain accurate reporting, and resolve accounting-related issues
• Maintain and improve purchasing, invoice approval, and three-way matching processes
• Lead, mentor, and support a small accounting team with a hands-on, player-coach leadership style
• Take ownership of team deliverables while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Prepare and review internal and external financial statements in accordance with ASPE
• Support year-end activities, regulatory filings, and external reporting requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, controls, workflows, and reporting processes
• Act as a key accounting resource across the business and support ongoing systems enhancements and operational growth

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• CPA designation is considered an asset
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities
• Experience working within project-based, construction, development, manufacturing, or other cost-tracked environments
• Strong understanding of multi-entity accounting and related-party transactions
• Proven experience leading month-end and year-end close processes
• Hands-on accounting leader who is comfortable operating in a dynamic environment
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Detail-oriented, accountable, adaptable, and solutions-focused
