The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring production equipment in a unionized manufacturing environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Machine Operation
  • Set up machines including calibration, cleaning, and adjustments.
  • Operate machinery safely and efficiently to meet production targets.
  • Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic adjustments as required.
Quality Control
  • Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming products to the supervisor or Quality department.
  • Ensure all products meet company and customer quality standards before release.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve product quality.
Maintenance & Safety
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.
  • Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
  • Assist in preventative maintenance activities as required.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Complete production logs, quality checklists, and reports accurately.
  • Track production output and machine performance.
  • Communicate issues to supervisors in a timely manner.
Team Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with production, quality, and maintenance teams.
  • Assist in training new operators as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50–60 lbs.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environment (noise, machinery, etc.).
  • Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, or weekends as required.
