Position: Senior Data Engineer (Azure Data Factory / Databricks)
Location: Oshawa, ON (Hybrid 3 days remote)
Structure: Contract 24 months to start
Pay:$85.00 - $95.00 p/h inc.

Deliverables
- Design, build, and support scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines, data lakehouse, and data warehouse solutions that provide trusted, business-ready data for analytics, reporting, and digital applications.
- Develop and optimize data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and automation frameworks using Python, Spark, SQL, and Azure data services while ensuring data quality, lineage, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise data products, support reporting initiatives, and maintain data governance standards.
- Provide production support, monitoring, testing, documentation, CI/CD integration, and continuous improvement of data platforms and pipelines within an Agile delivery environment.
Experience Required
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer building and supporting enterprise-scale data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakehouse solutions.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Python, PySpark, SparkSQL, and SQL for large-scale data processing, transformation, and pipeline development.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure data technologies including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Power BI.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data governance, metadata management, data quality, security, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and role-based access controls.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related discipline, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
