Team Lead - Telecom Field & Events Program

SDI Marketing is hiring an experienced, hands-on Team Lead to oversee a team of Sales Representatives as part of a national telecom field activation program running across Canada this summer.

This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced event environments and knows how to motivate and coach a team. You'll be working events alongside your reps at events in different communities, owning logistics on the ground, and serving as the primary point of contact between your team in the field and the Account Coordinator at head office.

Regional travel is a core and frequent part of this role — you need reliable transportation and to be comfortable with regular driving across your region.

What You'll Do

• Work pop-up, retail, and community events across the area— this is a working lead role, not a supervisory-only position
• Approach and engage the public; educate potential customers on available internet and connectivity plans
• Develop an understanding of available fiber, 5G, and broadband services, including features, pricing, and promotions
• Generate and submit qualified sales leads through a provided lead-capture system —commission is tied directly to lead quality and volume
• Serve as the on-the-ground point of contact for reps on your team: answer questions in the field, resolve day-of issues, own shift handovers
• Manage event asset logistics end-to-end: receive incoming shipments of booth equipment, signage, brand materials, and giveaways; transport assets to and from events; store inventory between activations
• Drive between events and markets within your region — paid travel applies for approved out-of-market movement
• Report directly to an Account Coordinator at SDI head office on all scheduling, event logistics, shift coverage, and post-event reporting
• Flag scheduling conflicts, rep performance concerns, or operational gaps to the Account Coordinator proactively — don't wait to be asked

What We're Looking For

• Previous field leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience in a sales, events, or promotions environment
• Direct sales, telecom, sales, brand ambassador, or field promotions background
• Strong organizational skills: you'll be managing assets, schedules, and logistics simultaneously across multiple events and locations
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with capacity to transport event materials (tent, tables, signage, branded supplies)
• Comfort with regular travel
• Part-time availability (primarily weekend); shift hours vary by event

Compensation:

• $25–$30/hr base
• Commission
• Paid mileage for out-of-market events
• Phone allowance
• Training is paid
