Salary: $71,070 per annum
Hours: Thursday - Saturday, every other Wednesday; 12-hour shifts (0700 - 1900 & 1900 - 0700)
Please note that this position rotates between a 4 week cycle of dayshifts & overnights
About the Role
We're looking for a Program Manager to join our Place Based Supportive Housing (PBSH) program. This role provides leadership and operational oversight for a 24/7 supportive housing environment serving individuals experiencing homelessness, addictions, and mental health challenges. The Program Manager is responsible for program development, service delivery, program evaluations, reporting, and the allocation of staff and financial resources. They also play a key role in crisis management, critical incident debriefing, and staff performance oversight. In this role, your responsibilities would include:
- Supervising, coaching, mentoring, and performance managing staff, including discipline when required
- Ensuring adequate shift coverage, approving time off, and supporting payroll accuracy
- Leading by example and ensuring staff provide caring, non judgmental client service within our program Leading recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and probation reviews
- Responding to crises such as overdoses, seizures, deaths, and other incidents
- Supporting staff and clients through debriefings and follow up
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols, accreditation standards, and program audits
- Resolving client, staff, and workplace concerns in collaboration with leadership and HR
- Building positive relationships with agencies, community partners, businesses, and stakeholders
- Overseeing accurate reporting, statistics, and documentation for funding outcomes
- Managing budgets and ensuring programs have required supplies and resources
- Providing direct service support when operationally required
- Participating in management meetings, labour relations discussions, and program check ins
About You
The Program Manager brings strong leadership experience in complex, high acuity service environments. They have several years of experience working with vulnerable populations, including frontline roles in addictions, mental health, homelessness, or Indigenous support services. The ideal candidate would have the following:
- Post secondary education in a relevant Human Services field from a public institution (minimum 2-year diploma or degree)
- Strong understanding of addiction, harm reduction, trauma informed care, and recovery oriented practices
- Proven leadership experience, including coaching, training, supervision, and performance management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with staff, clients, and stakeholders
- Sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to manage sensitive situations with confidentiality and diplomacy
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing operational needs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- A strong understanding of and commitment to Alpha House's mission
- Three years of driving experience, a valid Class 5 non GDL licence, a five year standard clean abstract, and ability to obtain Class 4 within 60 days
- Comfort working in environments with risk of violence and exposure to bodily fluids
- Physically able to assist clients with mobility needs
- Vulnerable Sector Search valid within the last six months with no results material to the role
- Completion of “It's Your Move” training or equivalent patient lift training and Privacy Training
- Understanding of the Protection of Persons in Care Act
