JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to assist the Marketing and Recruitment team in all projects and tasks related to marketing, events, recruitment, video, photo, and content creation. The main task for this employee is to build a stock of video and photo content as well as assist in the events hosted by SNP. They will also research ways to enhance SNPs marketing and recruitment as well as assist with the planning and execution of SNP events.
The Marketing & Events Assistant is required to perform all duties consistent with the governance values and operating policies of Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) while fostering positive relations with staff, students, stakeholders, and the community; contributing to a culturally supportive teaching, learning and work environment consistent with Hodinsh:nih/Rotinonhson:ni values of Ganigohi:yo:/Kanikoriio (Respect and the Good Mind)
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Developing content 30%
- Developing innovative and trending content for all SNP social media platforms specifically Tiktok, Instagram reels and YouTube.
- Other related duties, as required.
Assisting with event planning 30%
- Assisting the Manager, Marketing and Recruitment and the Marketing and Events Coordinator on upcoming event planning, management and execution
- Other related duties, as required.
Research 15%
- Research and brainstorm successful events and marketing strategies for other post-secondary institutions.
- Other related duties, as required.
Recruitment 15%
- Assisting the Recruitment team with outreach opportunities which includes, identifying events, participating in outreach, and reporting outcomes.
- Other related duties, as required.
General Administration 10%
- General administration for Marketing and Recruitment unit including submitting and filing invoices, receipts, etc.
- Other related duties, as required.
EDUCATIONAL KNOWLEDGE
Completion of high school. Must be registered as a full-time secondary or post-secondary student during the preceding academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.
Valid G Drivers License.
EXPERIENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / CULTURE AND LANGUAGE EXPERTISE
Up to and including 1 year of experience in a similar role.
Criminal Record Check
The successful candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Background Check Vulnerable Sector Screening that is satisfactory to Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) prior to the first day of work at Six Nations Polytechnic, and an Offence Declaration that is satisfactory to SNP by their first day of employment at Six Nations Polytechnic.

JOB TYPE: Summer Student; 8 weeks contract
SCHEDULE: 37.5 hrs Monday-Friday
WORK MODEL: Onsite
PAY BAND: 2; Core range $40,540.79$47,500.00. The target hiring salary for this position is minimum (Step 1) up to 45% of the pay band. Considerations for new hire step placements include experiential knowledge and/or language and cultural expertise.
