Promark Construction Ltd.
Calgary, AB
Job Details:
The Opportunity
We're adding a 2nd year apprentice to work directly under one of our lead journeyman carpenters. This isn't a “show up and sweep” apprenticeship. You'll be in the middle of high-end residential renovations and custom builds, learning from someone who takes their craft seriously and will push you to level up.
If you want to build a real career in the trades — not just collect a paycheck — this is the right place.
What We're Looking For
- Registered 2nd or 3rd year carpentry apprentice in Alberta
- Attitude and work ethic that match your skill — this matters more than anything
- Someone who asks questions, takes correction well, and shows up ready to work
- Valid driver's license and your own basic tools
- Steel-toed boots and a willingness to maintain a clean, professional job site
$25 - $28 hourly
Responsibilities:
- Execute tasks as directed by the Lead Journeyman, including framing, finishing, rough carpentry, and demolition
- Attend daily on-site meetings prepared and engaged, with a clear understanding of the day's goals and priorities
- Maintain a clean, organized work area at all times — before, during, and at the end of every shift
- Double-check your own work proactively to prevent deficiencies before they become problems
- Communicate professionally with clients, subcontractors, and trade partners on-site at all times
- Log daily hours and updates accurately in Buildertrend, our project management platform
- Ensure tools are prepared, maintained, and stored correctly in the Promark trailer or van at the end of each day
- Report any tool damage, site issues, or safety concerns to the Lead Journeyman or Project Manager immediately
- Represent Promark Construction professionally on site, in uniform, at all times
Qualifications:
- Currently registered as a 2nd or 3rd Year Carpentry Apprentice in Alberta
- Valid Alberta driver's license and reliable personal vehicle — required
- Own basic tools, including: tool belt, hammer, tape measure, carpenter's pencil, speed square, utility knife, multi-driver, drill, circular saw, and reciprocating saw
- Personal PPE — Steel-toed boots with shank and heel, Safety Glass, respirator
- Strong attitude and work ethic — this matters more to us than technical skill level alone
- Ability to take direction, accept correction, and ask good questions without ego
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced renovation environment where plans can shift day to day
- Committed to maintaining a clean, professional job site consistent with Promark's standards
- Punctual and reliable — we run a tight ship, and clients count on it
- Previous experience in residential renovation or custom home projects is an asset
