Experienced Lawyer (Portable Practice Required)

A well-established and growing law firm in Toronto, Ontario is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial lawyer to join its team. This opportunity is ideal for a driven legal professional with 3-25 years of experience and a portable book of business of $300,000+.

The firm offers a collaborative and growth-focused environment, providing the platform, resources, and flexibility for lawyers to build and expand their practice while delivering high-quality legal services to a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and grow an independent legal practice supported by an existing portable book of business ($300K+ required)

• Provide legal advice and representation across a variety of practice areas aligned with firm capabilities

• Build and maintain strong client relationships while actively contributing to business development initiatives

• Handle files from intake to resolution, including drafting, negotiations, and court appearances where applicable

• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver strategic and effective legal solutions

• Contribute to firm growth through cross-referrals and practice development efforts

• Stay current with legal developments and industry trends

Required Qualifications:

• 3-25 years of post-call legal experience

• Portable book of business of at least $300,000

• Proven ability to independently manage files and client relationships

• Strong business development and client acquisition skills

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting abilities

• Professional, entrepreneurial, and client-focused mindset

• Candidates in the process of completing accreditation requirements (including NCA) are encouraged to apply
