Mid FX Artist

The Embassy is a Canadian, Oscar-nominated production house, specializing in live-action production, post-production, and animation for feature films, television, and commercials. We are an independent creative studio with expertise in visual effects and production. Located in the heart of Vancouvers Digital District, we work with global production companies, agencies and brands in film, television and advertising.

About You

The FX Artist is responsible for creating realistic and stylized effects from initial concept through to final rendering. These effects will range from liquid and smoke simulations to abstract particle and procedural geometry effects.

Your Role

• Finalize shots driving existing tools or creating solutions, including hero and creature FX, to accomplish shot narratives.
• Meet project milestones and deadlines on time.
• Collaborate with other artists to share knowledge and techniques.
• Communicate with other departments to receive feedback and resolve shot issues.
• Research software and methods for increased productivity and efficiency.

Your Qualifications

• 3+ years of FX experience in commercials, film or TV
• Strong understanding of multiple aspects of the VFX pipeline
• Skilled knowledge of Houdini and Nuke
• Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to multitask
• Ability to take direction well, collaborate effectively in a team, and perform under tight deadlines.
• Strong understanding of various aspects of the VFX pipeline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.
• Capable of working collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Ability to efficiently organize and prioritize work across multiple tasks.
