Position Overview

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed siding and roofing estimates using blueprints, takeoff software, and cost analysis tools. The ideal candidate will have experience with new construction blueprint takeoffs (preferably using Bluebeam), strong skills in Microsoft Excel, and a meticulous eye for detail. This role plays a critical part in ensuring MAXgreen delivers accurate proposals, competitive pricing, and profitable project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to complete siding and roofing takeoffs.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam (preferred) or other digital tools.
• Prepare cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Input, analyze, and present data using Microsoft Excel for estimate breakdowns and project tracking.
• Collaborate with project managers, sales staff, and suppliers to refine estimates and budgets.
• Maintain accurate, organized records of estimates, assumptions, and revisions.
• Ensure compliance with company pricing standards, project specifications, and customer expectations.
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks in project scopes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years' experience in construction estimating, ideally within siding, roofing, or exterior envelope projects.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and takeoff preparation.
• Experience with Bluebeam or similar digital takeoff software (preferred).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of Calgary's construction market and suppliers is an asset.
