Position summary

The Lumber Estimator will provide superior customer service through proactive leadership and communication; driving efforts to increase market share while optimizing the utilization of assets and cultivate as many opportunities for greater profits.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform timely and accurate blueprint take-offs using customer supplied blueprints.
• Create accurate bids and materials price lists for sales staff in a timely manner.
• Forecasting and scheduling, ensuring projects and tasks are delivered on time.
• Follow established safety procedures for all assignments.
• Problem solving, strategic planning with the ability to implement solutions.
• Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of blueprints (architectural, structural and mechanical).

• Expertise in the rough framing and construction process.
• Knowledge of the building codes, engineering and structural standards.
• Knowledge of computer software i.e. MS Office, BisTrack, PlanSwift.
