This role is responsible for leading the Loan Administration team, overseeing the end‑to‑end servicing lifecycle, maintaining the integrity of loan records, and partnering closely with finance, investment, and capital markets teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in real estate finance or commercial lending, proven people leadership capability, and a process‑driven mindset.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Lead and execute day‑to‑day operations and strategic priorities for the Loan Administration function
- Recruit, develop, coach, and manage a high‑performing loan administration team
- Maintain accurate and complete loan data across servicing systems, including balances, security positions, and property details
- Oversee the processing and posting of loan transactions such as advances, payouts, renewals, discharges, and ongoing account maintenance
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of internal and external loan statements for management, borrowers, investors, and legal counsel
- Partner with the finance team to ensure loan balances, journal entries, and portfolio reporting are complete and accurate
- Manage basic to moderate default scenarios through effective communication with borrowers, investors, and internal stakeholders
- Establish and maintain strong compliance, risk management, and servicing controls aligned with internal policies and procedures
- Deliver high‑quality client service to institutional lenders and investors, including periodic reporting and adherence to service level agreements
- Support capital markets activities by acting as the subject‑matter expert for loan servicing structures, participation arrangements, and inter‑lender requirements
- Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators for the Loan Administration function and broader lending platform
- Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and best‑practice enhancements across loan servicing processes
- Lead or participate in system implementations and operational improvement initiatives in partnership with internal teams
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
- 7+ years of progressive experience in real estate finance, lending, or investment operations
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing teams
- Strong understanding of commercial mortgage or real estate lending structures and servicing requirements
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong overall technical capability
- Experience working with loan administration systems, financial platforms, or underwriting tools
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal partners, borrowers, and institutional investors
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- High attention to detail with sound judgment and decision‑making capability
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or an MBA considered an asset
