We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and fast-paced transportation company based in Burlington, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional looking to take on a well-rounded corporate accounting role with real visibility into the business.

The Role

As Senior/Corporate Accountant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting functions of the organization. You'll work closely with senior finance leadership and have exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities in a dynamic, operationally complex environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management of general accounting functions across the organization
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in compliance with GAAP (ASPE) and internal policies
  • Contribute to forecasting and variance analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and support as required
  • Support daily treasury functions and cash flow forecasting
  • Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Contribute to improving the efficiency and accuracy of financial close processes
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as directed by management

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central or a comparable ERP system
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • CPA designation or working toward completion is considered a strong asset
