Pharmacy Manager - People's Pharmacy

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage pharmacy staff by assigning work tasks, supervising, evaluating, training, and scheduling for all employees
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff; provide effective performance management feedback through employee recognition and disciplinary action when necessary
  • Oversee prescriptions to ensure accuracy and that proper procedures are being followed
  • Prepare, dispense, and control medications accurately and in a timely matter
  • Proactively conduct medical consultations with patients in a manner that is friendly and respectful
  • Administer immunizations
  • Adhere to controlled drugs and substances laws
  • Consult with physicians and provide timely resolutions to patients' and physicians' requests or concerns
  • Create awareness and educate customers through local initiatives such as public health days, clinics, etc.
  • Manage expenses at the pharmacy
  • Open and close the pharmacy
  • Maintain protocols and procedures
  • Manage inventory (medication and over-the-counter)
  • Keep pharmacy clean and organized
  • Manage collection of payments and accounts receivables

Requirements

  • Licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists Manitoba
  • Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy
  • Good understanding of Kroll Software
  • Superior customer relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism
  • Excellent strategic planning, leadership, and communication
  • The ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Continuing care pharmacy experience preferred
  • Experience with Nexxsys preferred, but not strictly necessary
  • Experience managing staff preferred
