Job Summary

The Materials Analyst is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of duties and responsibilities as outlined below in accordance with AGS' cultural priorities.

Please note this position is to fill a vacancy for 12-18 months.

Salary Range: $55000 - $65000 Annually

Job function

The Materials Analyst supports the Materials Department through a combination of analytical, administrative, inventory, and logistics activities. This role plays a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting supplier and customer requirements, and ensuring the smooth flow of materials to meet production and customer schedules.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform daily physical inventory counts and maintain accurate records
  • Collect, analyze, and enter data into spreadsheets and inventory systems
  • Record and reconcile inventory and production transactions
  • Conduct EDI billing reviews and process RMA/MRO transactions
  • Support CCAS activities, including shipment tracking and follow‑up
  • Assist with internal and external logistics coordination
  • Coordinate timely customer orders with supply chain contacts to optimize shipments and reduce partial loads
  • Support supplier management activities, including steel releases, delivery bookings, schedule tracking, and acting as a key supplier liaison
  • Support QAD and inventory management processes, including DOH reporting, rack counts, setup reviews, and annual physical inventory
  • Maintain inventory levels aligned with corporate targets and ensure accuracy of perpetual records
  • Assist with document control and daily 5S activities
  • Provide day‑to‑day support to the Materials team and act as backup to the Materials Supervisor as required

Qualifications & Skills

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) required
  • Post‑secondary education considered an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Good basic math skills
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Project an asset)

Work Environment & Effort

  • Industrial manufacturing environment
  • Combination of computer‑based work and regular time spent on the plant floor
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (safety footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection)
