Formulations and R&D Lead or Specialist
Our client is a well established business, supplying products to the food, beverage and cannabis industry and they are looking for a formulations expert to join their business.
This will be a hands-on, custom development, formulations and innovation role to support client requirements.

Our client is a well established business, supplying products to the food, beverage and cannabis industry and they are looking for a formulations expert to join their business.
This will be a hands-on, custom development, formulations and innovation role to support client requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the research, design, and development of new blends and finished products
- Ensure formulations meet production feasibility, cost, and quality standards.
- Apply working knowledge of FEMA GRAS status and food-grade compliance for ingestible products (gummies, beverages, emulsions).
- Collaborate with Sales, Quality, and the General Manager on custom formulations, helping translate customer language into technical specifications.
- Assist in production activities as needed, including batching and cleanroom operations, when the Lead Production & Process Development is unavailable.
- Monitor lab supplies and equipment, notifying responsible teams when replenishment is required.
- Other as required
- Bachelor's degree in a science or related discipline (Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or similar). M.Sc. is an asset but not required
- 3-6 years of hands-on experience in product development
- Familiarity with the product development life cycle, from concept through prototyping, proof of application, and commercial scale-up
- Effective time management and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
