We are seeking an industrial fabric cutter to work with a custom awning shop in Markham. $19/hr + 4% vacation paid weekly via direct deposit You will be working with a custom awnings shop dedicated to high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. As an Industrial Cutter you will be assisting in the preparation and cutting of materials for custom awnings. This role involves no sewing, but requires consistent precision in measuring, cutting, and handling various industrial fabrics. Key Responsibilities: -Measure and cut awning materials according to job specifications using cutting tools, blades, and cutting machines -Interpret cutting lists and diagrams with precision. -Maintain high standards for measurement accuracy, ensuring all cuts are clean and exact. -Handle and care for cutting tools and equipment properly. -Maintain a clean and organized cutting area. -Collaborate with production staff to meet project timelines. -Perform quality control checks on all materials cut. -Follow safety procedures and company protocols at all times. Requirements: -Proficiency in reading and writing in English. -Strong basic math skills, including simple fractional math (e.g., 3/8', 5/16'). -Prior experience using cutting tools and industrial cutting equipment. -Proven ability to take accurate measurements consistently. -High level of attention to detail and accuracy. -Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision. -Physically able to stand, lift, and move materials as needed.
