We have a position coming up in Acton, Ontario working at a kiln plant doing general labour duties. This is a small plant that is looking for somebody long term that they can hire on. After hire and completing probationary period you would receive benefits and a pension. The first two weeks would be on morning shift, and then you would be required to move to the continental shift, detailed below. Continental Shift: Hours averaging agreement to 40 hours per week Day Shift (7 AM - 7 PM) Week 1: Monday-Tuesday (ON), Wednesday-Thursday (OFF), Friday-Sunday (ON) Week 2: Monday-Tuesday (OFF), Wednesday-Thursday (ON), Friday-Sunday (OFF) Night Shift (7 PM - 7 AM) Week 1: Monday-Tuesday (ON), Wednesday-Thursday (OFF), Friday-Sunday (ON) Week 2: Monday-Tuesday (OFF), Wednesday-Thursday (ON), Friday-Sunday (OFF) The duties are as follows: - Loading clay cups into brick carts to then be put through the kiln, cooking and drying them to prepare for shipment - Cleaning said cups off and packaging into boxes, taping the boxes up and placing on pallets (50lbs) - Operates lift trucks to transport materials throughout the plant.(Will be trained) - Regularly uses hand tools such as brooms, shovel, and manual painting equipment, power washer, air tools, power tools, such as drill motor, grinder, shop vacuum to keep plant clean - Performs minor preventative maintenance on equipment and/or partners with maintenance to solve equipment changes and problems - Sweeping, shoveling, manual painting, equipment cleaning, and wire wheel grinding of steel forms - Use Forklift to attach bag and place under spout so the mix can pour into bags APPLY TODAY!
