Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Landscape Lead Hand to join our team for an upcoming commercial landscape project in Peachland, BC. Following completion of this project, there will be opportunity for the successful candidate to either move on or continue working with Cabin on additional projects including boardwalks, bridges, trail building, and restoration installations.

This role is ideal for a motivated field leader who can support the Superintendent with daily operations, direct crews, maintain production schedules, and work hands-on alongside field staff.

Location: Based in the Okanagan

Experience with playground installations is considered an asset but is not required.

Key Responsibilities

Assist Superintendent with daily site operations and project coordination
Lead and direct field crews to maintain schedule and productivity
Read and interpret architectural/landscape drawings and specifications
Perform and oversee quality control to ensure work meets project standards
Maintain efficient workflow and strong crew productivity
Work hands-on with labourers and equipment operators as required
Coordinate daily materials, equipment, and site logistics
Ensure safe work practices are followed on site

Scope of Work Experience preferred
Commercial landscape construction
Natural playground construction including horizontal and vertical log features
Grading and site preparation
Planting and restoration planting
Mulch and soil placement
Site furniture installation
Water play feature installations
Concrete sono tube foundations
Rough carpentry

Qualifications
25 years commercial landscaping experience
Minimum 2 years experience in a landscape lead hand / crew lead role
Proven leadership ability and experience managing field crews
Ability to read and interpret construction/architectural drawings
Experience operating skid steer and mini excavator
Valid drivers license
Reliable transportation
Physically fit and capable of demanding outdoor work
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to maintain schedule and productivity under deadlines
