About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Civil Estimator with experience pricing heavy civil construction projects including sewer and watermain, underground utilities, road construction, earthworks, deep excavation, and municipal infrastructure assignments. This role is ideal for an estimator who wants exposure to a strong pipeline of civil infrastructure work while working alongside experienced operational and estimating leadership teams.

The Role

As the Civil Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing competitive tenders and budgets for a wide range of heavy civil infrastructure projects throughout the GTA and Ontario.

You will work closely with operations, project management, subcontractors, suppliers, and senior leadership teams to support all aspects of the estimating process from bid review through tender submission.

This role offers exposure to both negotiated and hard-bid infrastructure projects and provides strong long-term career growth opportunities within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for heavy civil infrastructure projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and tender documents
  • Perform quantity take-offs and pricing analysis
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
  • Assist with bid strategy, risk analysis, and project planning activities
  • Coordinate with operations teams regarding construction methodologies and project execution plans
  • Prepare tender summaries, scopes, and proposal documentation
  • Support change pricing, budgeting, and cost analysis activities
  • Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and tender reviews
  • Assist with post-bid handovers to project management teams

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of estimating experience within heavy civil or municipal infrastructure construction
  • Strong experience estimating projects involving:
    • Sewer & watermain
    • Underground utilities
    • Road construction
    • Earthworks and grading
    • Deep excavation
    • Municipal infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of Ontario civil construction markets and pricing
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
  • Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
  • Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related educational background is considered an asset
  • Experience with public sector and municipal tenders is considered highly desirable
