Description
About the Role:We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Dock Worker to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring the efficient movement of freight within our terminal, supporting on-time deliveries and overall operational success. Location: St John's, NLSchedule: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Key Responsibilities:- Load and unload freight from trailers in a safe and efficient manner
- Sort, stage and organize shipments within the dock area
- Use of scanners and paperwork
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks)
- Verify shipment accuracy and report any damages or discrepancies
- Maintain clean and organized work environment
- Attend in-house training sessions as required (e.g. dangerous goods, WHMIS, etc.)
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet deadlines
- Forklift certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain)
- A willingness to work, dependability & a good attitude are key
- Your own vehicle as position is spread across 3 buildings
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Able to perform heavy lifting on a regular basis
- Willingness to work in warehouse conditions with possible high noise levels and varying temperatures (dependent on weather)
